Elli’s 8th Birthday

Dear Elli, It is six weeks past your eighth birthday and I am only now writing your birthday letter. I’m sorry, baby girl. I’ll do better. Maybe. Well, probably some years. Oh, Elli. Elli, Elli, Elli. You are so awesome. I don’t know a better way to describe you. You’re just seriously awesome. I LOVE the way your see the world. You are so gentle and sweet and you see the world through your sweet and gentle eyes. You are always so positive and it really inspires me. You always (ok, not always, because sometimes you get into really grumpy moods where you are so darkly dramatic) ….MOST of the time, you always look on the bright side of things. I love that about you. This past year has been a very exciting one for you. You started gymnastics, violin lessons, homeschool co op, and we moved to a new town two hours away. We’ve been working very hard with our school lessons. School is going much smoother for you. I have learned a …

Isaac’s 3rd Birthday

Dear Isaac, It is April 25th, 2017 and today I realized that I never wrote you a birthday letter for your third birthday. I know you must love these letters more than life itself. No doubt this one will sit on your bedside table as your most prized possession. It is exactly four months and ten days late BUT it could be later and that is what we should focus on. I want to tell you a little bit about yourself at the age of three. You are the most snuggly, sweet, ornery, and stubborn little boy. I love all the snuggles you give me and store them up in my heart. A day will come when those snuggles won’t be for me anymore, so I will treasure them while I have them. You and Aubi are both very, very snuggly. Elli doesn’t sneak into bed with us anymore, but you do every single night and Aubi does fairly often too. You curl up close to me and nuzzle in. You did this this morning, …

Aubi is Five

Dear Aubi, Today you are five. Five years ago, early in the morning, I held your tiny body in my arms for the first time. For five full years you have been making us smile, laugh, and so filled with joy! My prayer for you is that I show you patience and grace as The Lord has shown me patience and grace. I pray that I teach you the ways of The Lord and that your life will be a testament to His love and mercy. I pray that in everything that you do, you will glorify Him. If you follow The Lord and make Him Lord of your life, then all my prayers will have been answered. The Lord has given you many gifts and skills, Aubi Roo. You are so intelligent and advanced for your age. We’ve been working through a kindergarten math book and you are just breezing through it like its nothing. You are bold, determined, and spunky. You can be quite headstrong at times, but I know that these characteristics …

Oliver Turns One

Hello, friends! I haven’t been posting to my blog like I wanted to. I will be better! I am determined to make this a habit! So, Ollie turned one! A couple weeks ago, but it happened. My baby is on his way to being a toddler, which is hard for a momma to accept. Well, it is for this momma! Here’s some pictures from our celebration and a letter to the birthday boy at the end.  Dear Ollie,  Today you are one. To think that it’s been a year since I first held you in my arms is amazing. This year was filled with difficulties and, more importantly, tons upon tons of joy. I marvel constantly at the wonder of The Lord – that he would give us two beautiful daughters and two handsome sons. I am overwhelmed at his goodness. Oliver, your father and I pray for you everyday. That you will grow strong and healthy, that you will grow in Godly character, that The Lord will work in your heart and make you …

Ollie Turns Nine Months

I’m running very behind on writing this blog post. Ollie turned nine months on March 22nd and its almost time to write the blog about him turning ten months. I actually wrote this a couple weeks ago but never got around to posting it to my blog. Most days I’m running on empty just trying to get everything done and accomplished for the day. I don’t know how you other moms take pictures with your kids wearing the month stickers. Ollie would rather eat his. Maybe you’re all just sneakier than I am. I tried sneaking it on his head like last month but he’s caught onto my tricks. Nope. That sticker lasted less than a second before it was a crumpled mess. I did finally figure out that putting him in his crib is the perfect way to trap him for pictures. Nine month old Ollie has two teeth on the bottom, is very mobile, can climb, walk around furniture, babble, laugh, and loves to play with his siblings. He is still very adventurous …

Elli Turns Seven

My Elli turned seven this past Saturday and as I do every birthday I wrote her a letter and I’m sharing it here. There’s also pictures of her birthday weekend and some of her birthday photo shoot we did at the end so don’t miss those! Dear Elli, We have been celebrating your seventh birthday this weekend. Seven years ago you made me a mommy for the very first time. You were such a tiny little thing at 6 lbs 7 oz. I remember seeing and holding you for the first time and thinking you were the most beautiful person I’d ever met. Seven years later and you are even more beautiful today. I remember seeing the look on your daddy’s face when he looked at you. That first look of love is something I will never forget. You changed our lives forever. I don’t say this lightly, Elli Bean, but you are so amazing. You are so many things that I wish I could be. You are considerate, compassionate, kind, the best big sister, …

Oliver Turns Eight Months

Eight months has passed since I gave birth to the most joyful baby ever. He’s also the loudest baby ever. Seriously, this kid can scream. Eight months…I need to let that sink in some more. That’s two thirds of a year, right? I don’t like math. Let’s not talk about math. A few months ago Elli (6) told me that when she grows up she wants to be an explorer and go on an adventure to discover dragons. This was a few months ago, mind you, and I’m pretty sure she has since changed her career choice to ninja artist, but I think if any of her siblings were to join her on her quest it would be Oliver. He is always into something. They all have an adventurous spirit – each to their own degree- but Ollie takes the cake on most adventurous baby. He is a joyful, sweet little thing. He now weighs 17 lbs and he babbles, giggles, and wiggles constantly. He can climb just about anything he can get his chubby …
